No-Dig Drain Inspections Manchester
No-dig technology, sometimes called trenchless technology, is when pipes, cables and ducts are installed, renewed and repaired underground, without the need for excavation.
How Does No-Dig Patch Repair Work?
SM Drains no-dig pipe repair systems give a permanent and completely watertight finish to damaged pipes.
The main benefit to this type of drain repair is that there’s no need to dig up the pipe. This means that there is minimal disruption to the ground, and less hassle and inconvenience overall.
We do this with a drain patch, which is spread out and filled with epoxy resin. It is then wrapped around a special tool called a pipe packer. The pipe packer is then inserted into the drain to the point where the damage is, and then inflated. This causes the resin to bond to the damaged pipe, repairing the hole. It is left for an hour, after which time the resin is fully cured, and the pipe can be removed.
The main benefits of no-dig technology include:
- No costly, inconvenient excavation work
- Resin cures well even when wet
- Excellent bonding to virtually any substrate
- Expected to work for 50 years
- 10 year guarantee
- WRc approved
CCTV & No Dig Technology
Our CCTV survey will allow us to see where the damage to your pipes or sewers are without any digging, which could cause further damage. We will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the problem, using a wheel mounted camera, which will send high-definition images back to our monitor.
We can then use no-dig technology to repair the holes in your drain without causing you any hassle, and at a much lower cost than excavation works.
This is because the high cost of excavation works is largely due to the time and labour costs involved. As pipe repaired using no-dig technology are cured in place, without the need for any excavation, the cost is far less.
