Broken Drain Repair During Lockdown
Many vulnerable people in Manchester and the North West are shielding to stay safe during the current COVID-19 pandemic, however a broken drain doesn’t care!
Many of these people, (like a recent customer) are suffering with broken drains, but worry about contacting anyone due to the current lockdown rules and are unsure what they are able to do.
This can mean people are going without showers or a hygenic toilet.
Emergency Drainage Call Outs
If you are suffering with blocked drains, toilets blocking up, showers not draining properly or any other drainage issues, please give us a call.
We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will always respond as fast as possible to emergency drainage issues. These are issues that leave you without clean water, no toilet facilities or flooding in and around your home.
The pictures on the post are from an elderly customer who were suffering with blocked drains that they couldn’t fix, no matter what they tried.
Many times drain unblock chemicals were pored down the drain and plungers deployed to try to remove a blockage, but whatever was tried did not solve the problem. Underneath you will see why!
CCTV Drain Investigation
When we were eventually called out, our CCTV investigation discovered a collapsed drain outside the property. No matter how many times you would try to unblock your drains using the methods above, a collapsed drain simply won’t be fixed this way.
Due to lockdown and shielding, our customer couldn’t leave the house and therefore had nowhere else to go for cleaning and toilet trips. We couldn’t leave her with no cleaning or safe toilet facilities, so we treated the job as an emergency and managed to fix the drain in the same day allowing her to continue life without worrying about drains!
We first had to dig out the drain to get access, then replaced the broken drain with new and improved pipes allowing the waste water to flow through to the sewer system once again. This means that there were no more backed up showers, toilets not flushing, bad smells coming through the plug holes etc, which is bad at the best of times, but during a lockdown can be unbearable in your own home!
